The ETC Challenge
Welcome to the introduction to the Estrangement Transformation Coaching Challenge
What will I learn that sets this program apart?
The ETC Challenge is set up to support you as you explore numerous resources. I designed these tools when the fog of my grief began to lift. When I started to journal, I found relief from my pain and loss and solutions that I have tested and found effective. My proprietary content includes practising the discipline of empathy, radical objectivity and picking your path within the relationship reboot quandary. These are just some of what my clients call my insightful offerings.
If you like what you see so far, I hope you will enjoy the introspective questions. All that means is you will find it refreshing to look inside and learn about yourself and how you can grow as a person (and perhaps as a parent, friend, sister, cousin, daughter…).
Here are some of my beliefs-
Our mindset determines our openness to change. Our heartache offers direction. Our heart shows us how ready we are to look within and reflect. I must want to move from deep grief to picturing promises within what may lie ahead in my life. Our volition is our will – the force that shapes our choices and decisions.
How does this coaching program work?
Group coaching is set up for weekly encounters online. Payment is accepted weekly. You can come as you are.
What will this involve?
The ETC Challenge involves some real and rhetorical questions you may not yet be ready to answer. The questions are designed to start the conversation within yourself and with others, if you feel like sharing. Coaching isn’t meant to offer advice. Coaching allows and fosters you to teach yourself. Only you know what you need to heal from the wounds of your particular estrangement.
Here are some examples of questions we can explore – ask yourself:
What would it take for you to let go of the burdens found only within estrangement?
What would it take to heal the deep wounds unique to estrangement?
What would it mean for you to accept some issues and difficulties may never be fully resolved?
“I don’t know yet,” is a perfectly acceptable and understandable reply.
What does SHIFT mean?
Here is what SHIFT represents- find the words beginning with the letters S-H-I-F-T to follow along. These underlined words are not links:
You first accept the invitation, from your heart, to shift from sorrow to Strength and from helplessness to Hope. I believe one’s Identity changes through estrangement, so envision and plan what it will take to shift from isolation to a new or renewed Identity. Who are you now that an important person in your life has moved on from a close and meaningful relationship with you?
Also, maybe realize what it will require to come to terms with the fear and unknowns about the future. Begin to live with Faith in the unknown possibilities of your future, even though you may not be able to yet picture living fully with joy again.
Try to leave the trials and turmoil of estrangement behind. Can you envision a life of peace ahead? Will you learn to Trust yourself and others again? Learn who the ‘safe’ people are in your life.
Big Ideas
The Estrangement Transformation Coaching Challenge invites each person to reframe their thinking towards a mindset of what is possible during and after estrangement. You may learn to become more comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, recognizing for many families, estrangement is permanent.
If the person at the center of your estrangement has gone “no contact” you may recognize some needs for control you hadn’t yet acknowledged were important to you. A need for control doesn’t necessarily make a controlling person. We will identify how we understand what it means to control in a loving and protective way. Improving how we communicate is a key benefit of this exercise.
My wishes for you
Lastly, you will assess if you have learned the steps required to adapt to what is yet to come to feel at peace. At the end of our time together, I hope you will feel more confident. I want you to commit to living with purpose as a rare and precious emotionally mature adult.
Self-awareness, self-assurance and taking personal responsibility are key starting points of healing well. Like the precious caterpillar who emerges from the chrysalis as a butterfly, the process of metamorphosis takes rest, time, transformation, commitment to growth and a touch of the miraculous.
